FRESH //

We are closing in on our first year of being parents. As I sit and reflect over the last year of my life, I can’t help but think that almost every piece of this last year has been new. A learning experience. I have learned how to be a mother in the last year. I have learned how to leave the house with a whole other person in tow. How to care for a sick newborn. How to use one hand for almost every task. How to use the bathroom with a baby in my arms. How to go to the gym with my boy. So much new. All in less than 365 days. This year has been such an adventure.

I have taken that into almost every area of my life. I have learned how to keep a better, cleaner house. I have pretty much completely refreshed unit plans at school. I will be teaching the novel The Hobbit this year, and I can’t help but think it might be a little bit because of the theme of adventure. The wonder of doing and accomplishing something totally new and foreign.

I have stepped out of my comfort zone entirely this year, and the mercies and blessings of the Lord abound. I am in awe.

“Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness!”

‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬
